During Michael Jordan’s Basketball Hall of Fame induction speech, he gave insight into his championship psyche. Any slight or headline, provided him with enough fire to fuel his killer instinct. It makes sense that after 18 years, his heir apparent Kobe Bryant is still somehow holding a grudge against the Charlotte Hornets, who traded his rights to the Los Angeles Lakers for legendary chain-smoker, Vlade Divac. Today, Bryant took to Twitter and Instagram, to celebrate the 18th anniversary of the day he was drafted:
Some naysayers may suggest that Bryant should let the hurt go, but if Tom Brady can still manage to break down when discussing the 6 quarterbacks taken before him, Bryant has the right to hold on to that distant, motivational memory. To his credit, he attempted to spin his post as a source of encouragement for the United States Men’s National (Soccer) Team, but even the Instagram post only had pictures of Laker championship runs. We know the deal, Kobe. We get it.
