The third and final year of the deal is a team option. Stephenson had to wait a little bit, but he got a good deal. The 6-foot-5 Stephenson had a breakout season averaging 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists.
He also shot 49 percent from the field and 35 percent from 3-point range. It remains to be seen just how much his antics against LeBron James and the Miami Heat actually cost him salary wise.
No he didn’t get a huge deal, but he does get a little over $9 million a season and the opportunity to show teams that he’s worth a large investment down the line when he’ll only be 26.
