The ESPYS weren’t short on star power, with Drake as host and a slew of hilarious skits. But with all of that, the power of kids ultimately reigned supreme in the ratings, with Nickelodeon’s first ever Kids Choice Sports Awards beating their adult counterparts in ratings.
The ‘Kids Choice’ aired on Thursday and averaged a viewership of 2.3 million, edging the ESPYS 2.2 million on Wednesday. But there may be a slight technicality which the simulcast on ESPN 2 garnering another 400,000 viewers, when added up the ESPYS had a collected 2.6 average viewers to the 2.3 on Nick.
Still, on the main channel the fact the 2-11 demographic that controls Nickelodeon beat out the ‘world leader in sports’ is hilarious to no end.
