Last week Clippers forward Blake Griffin withdrew from Team USA training camp for the FIBA World Cup. Now sources are saying it’s because the doctors advised against it after finding a small fracture in his back. They are hoping him taking the time off will help him heal before the NBA season starts.
Griffin is expected to make a full recovery from the injury, which sources say was suffered during the playoffs. However, doctors advised him to sit out international competition this summer for precautionary reasons.
Griffin is still working out in Los Angeles with Clippers teammate DeAndre Jordan.
