The Kevin Love saga has taken another plot twist. According to The News-Herald, Love won’t sign an extension with any team that trades for him. That includes the Cavs:
In a rather new development, it now looks as if Love won’t sign an extension with any team in which he’s traded, even the Cavaliers. He can get far more money if he becomes a free agent in the summer of 2015, and re-signs with the team in which he is traded. That puts considerably more risk in a trade, especially if the Cavaliers are giving up a prospect like Wiggins.
This actually makes a lot of sense for Love because he can get a lot more money by becoming a free agent and either re-signing with the team he is traded to or moving on somewhere else. The problem with that is a team like Cleveland will want an assurance that he will re-sign if they are giving up a prospect like Wiggins.
This could get interesting now.
