It’s not always what you are worth but what someone is willing to pay you.
Lance Stepehenson has rejected the Pacers 5 year/$44M contract offer according to Chris Broussard. Here is what his source said:
“Lance and his representatives aren’t sure they’re going to be able to reach an agreement with the Pacers,” a source said. “It’s clear they want him back and he wanted to go back, but they may not be able to come to terms.”
Essentially what that means is, show Lance the money. I have zero problem with Lance trying to get the most money he possibly can. However, I wouldn’t blame the Pacers for not wanting to pay double digit millions per season to a player who when you boil it down is a career 9 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and 3.1 apg player.
Plus they already have a good amount of money tied up in Paul George, Roy Hibbert, and David West. Lance may have to look elsewhere to really cash out. Perhaps the Hornets?
