Well if it make Knicks fans happy, Carmelo Anthony is taking less money to help bring the a championship to New York.
Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Anthony and the Knicks are putting the finishing touches on a five-year, $120 million deal.
Anthony considered the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets before deciding to re-sign. He notified the other teams on Saturday that he’s returning to New York.
Anthony might still take less than the maximum $129 million the Knicks can give him, a source said.
Anthony is expected to publicly announce his return on Sunday.
Anthony’s decision took a week longer than most expected, but he has reportedly notified the Bulls of choice and advised them to move on.
