According to Horns Digest, another two players have been dismissed from the Texas football team. Senior safety Josh Turner and senior linebacker Kendall Thompson were added to the cutting board by head coach Charlie Strong. This brings the total number of players kicked off the team THIS WEEK to five, in addition to the indefinite suspensions of Kendall Sanders and Montrel Meander after they were accused of sexual assault on Thursday.

It will remain to be seen if the cleanup Strong is implementing will be successful. If the stern offseason doesn’t transition onto the field when the season starts, the media pressure might not be the only headache he will have to deal with. His players will be all for this iron fist coaching as long as they’re winning. But if Texas stumbles out of the gate, be on the lookout for small fires of rebellion sparking up all over the UT campus.
Also, what does it say about the former leadership of this team (both on and off the field), with all these seniors getting dismissed? Maybe the number of players getting sent home has a direct effect on Texas’ poor play as of late. What do you think?
