Former NFL quarterback and famed NFL analyst, Ron Jaworski is kicking off his annual ranking of the league’s 32 quarterbacks, and first up on the list is Minnesota Vikings signal caller Matt Cassel. In this case however, being first really means Cassel is the worst of the bunch, according to Jaws.
“My 32nd rated quarterback entering the 2014 season is Matt Cassel,” Jaworski said on ESPN.
“ [Norv] Turner’s offense starts with the run game. With Adrian Peterson in the backfield, Cassel’s 66 quarterback rating last year on play-action passes just wasn’t good enough,” Jaworski said.
Cassel won’t have much room for error as it is, with 2014 1st round pick Teddy Bridgewater already said to be in competition for the starting job. If the Vikings start the season slow, or his play is not up to par, I don’t see Norv Turner waiting long to make the switch.
