The nations top High School guard could be playing overseas next season. Emmanuel Mudiay, a SMU commit and a potential top 10 pick in next year’s NBA draft is exploring playing overseas next year according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski:
The nation’s No. 1 high school guard, Southern Methodist University signee Emmanuel Mudiay of Dallas, has been considering hiring an agent and taking a job playing overseas next season, sources told Yahoo Sports.
SMU coach Larry Brown had this to say:
“Don’t have much to say about that. He’s been (accepted) at SMU. Taking a few classes to be no the safe side,”
There are eligibility issues at play for Mudiay who went to High School at Deion Sanders’ Prime Prep. The report also says that representatives of Mudiay have reached out to prospective agents and shoe companies about possible partnerships with the prospect if he turns professional. China has been mentioned as a top destination.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out with a top flight prospect like Mudiay.
