With the 49ers gearing up to start a new season in their brand new stadium, there is a report that the players haven’t been treading too well with the new field. According to CSNBayArea.com, the 49ers are reportedly moving their practices due to turf problems.
Basic plays provided huge divots, and there were patches of sod that were still discolored from the 49ers’ game Sunday against the Denver Broncos.
General manager Trent Baalke, standing on the sideline, was clearly agitated by uneven turf, which has yet to take root. And when wide receiver Stevie Johnson fell hard after slipping on a simple out-pattern during a 7-on-7 drill, Harbaugh brought his team together near midfield to play it safe.
The 49ers have since moved to the clubs practice field to finish. The 49ers are set to play Sunday at home against the Charges. Hopefully management will get these kinks fixed before the regular season start. Would hate to hear that games were lost because of a bad field or something that could be fixed.
