While the name “Scam Newton” may haunt his past, no one can deny the charity Cam Newton does. He’s actively making kids wishes come true and the loudest teammate cheering.
A young QB who committed to Georgia Tech, Jaylend Ratclif, recently suffered a brain injury after a ATV accident on July 30th. Jaylend at first wasn’t recovering well but now seems to be making a great stride on the right track. Apparently, word got to Cam Newton and the star QB of the Panthers made his way to visit him in the hospital.
Via Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
Cam went up to see him in the hospital, and I thought that was awesome. He brought some stuff from the Carolina Panthers, and they took some pictures together. Cam stayed for around an hour. Whomever made that happen, I’m happy because Cam Newton is one of his favorite players. Jaylend was pleased to see him. That was nice. It really seemed to bolster his spirits.
While Cam Newton’s surprise will be a memory to remember, its also been said that Georgia Tech will honor Jaylend’s scholarship when he’s ready to continue his education.
