Chris Kluwe and the Minnesota Vikings came to a win-win agreement on Friday. The former Vikings punter and the franchise have reached an out-of-court settlement, according to the Star-Tribune.

The two-sides have been embattled in a nasty back and forth since the Vikings released Kluwe after the 2012 season.

Kluwe wrote in a Deadspin piece last January that special teams coach Mike Priefer had made gay slurs at him, and Kluwe said he was planning to sue the team for $10 million for defamation of character and emotional distress if the organization didn’t punish Priefer accordingly.

Priefer was suspended for three games, and Kluwe’s lawyer told the Star-Tribune and other media outlets that his client and the Vikings had reached a settlement.

Lawyer Clayton Halunen also said the two sides would hold a joint press conference next week in order to divulge the details of the settlement.
