Be careful who you let know where you live and what you have in your house. That lesson was recently learned by an unlucky sneaker collector.
TheShoeGame.com posted the details of this story:
Shawn Raymond, a collector of at least 100 pairs of Nikes and Jordans fell victim to a terrible crime scene.
“I woke up at 2:30 in the morning with four dudes in my house with guns taking my sneakers off my wall,” said Shawn.
That’s not even the half of it. Not only did four masked men break into Shawn’s house, but they also tied him up along with his Grandmother and younger Sister. These thieves were armed & dangerous. According to Shawn he was pistol whipped and hit with a crowbar in front of his family as the men starting taking sneakers off his wall. We can’t imagine the trauma little sis and Grandma were going through during this home invasion.
Police called the SWAT team to surround the house in case the crime scene started to become a lot more serious, prior to their arrival the thieves got away.
On Tuesday the police arrested five suspects, one of them still had a garbage bag full of sneakers in his car.
I know sneakerheads want to boast and brag about having the exclusive Jordans or the latest Nikes but you must always be weary of who is reading those post and what their intentions may be. Shawn may have just wanted to share his collection with the world through photos and videos. Other’s were plotting to take what he’s worked hard to collect.
If you’re posting these pics online make sure you turn off your location on all social media platforms and make sure you alays lock your home and valuable possessions away. Stay safe sneakerheads.
