High stakes game of chicken going on, but I doubt NIKE will match such a deal, simply because they are going to keep printing money with or without Kevin Durant.
Maybe, though KD can leverage it into a nice $200 million deal from NIKE and some ownership stake. We will see what happens.
Kevin Durant’s representation, Roc Nation Sports, informed Nike on Wednesday that he has a deal on the table with Under Armour worth between $265 million and $285 million over 10 years, sources told ESPN.com.
The deal includes Under Armour stock and other incentives such a community center built in his mother’s name whose exact worth will not be known for some time.
If NIKE declines to match, Durant has to make a decision to either take the UA Deal or take whatever NIKE is offering which rumored to be around $20 million a year.
