You would think that NASCAR would have had this rule in place for years, but it was only after Tony Stewart killed Kevin Ward Jr. on a dirt track that they decide to put it in place.
In short, unless your car is on fire, you have to stay in it until you are told it is safe to get out. Furthermore, you can not get out of your car to confront a driver on the track.
Common sense, sometimes isn’t very common.
