Brandon Merriweather’s appeal didn’t go as planned.
The NFL announced Saturday that Meriweather’s two-game suspension for his latest violation of the league’s safety rules was upheld by Ted Cottrell, the jointly appointed appeals officer who reduced Meriweather’s ban to one game for two other illegal hits last year.
The Redskins first two games are against Houston and Jacksonville.
