Ole Miss freshman Sammie Epps was arrested on Friday night for driving without a license and possession of marijuana according to reports from the Oxford Citizen. Epps was reportedly playing well at Fall camp as a slot receiver. Even with the Friday night arrest, Epps was in attendance at Saturday’s Meet the Rebels day.
His charge was no driver’s license and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. Epps, a native of Greenwood, was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center at 11 Friday night, according to the jail docket
The school has made no statement regarding Epps’ arrest, but according to Mississippi laws, possession of marijuana anywhere in a car except the trunk is considered a misdemeanor. If Epps has no license whatsoever that could also be a misdemeanor.
Epps is listed at 6’5″ and 215 pounds. He was a projected 4-star recruit by Scout.com. This is not the best way to start his college career.
