In today’s technological boom, it’s pretty easy to find footage of our favorite athletes dominating when they were in high school. Back in the mid-90s though, such highlights were pretty difficult to come by. It’s rare to find in-game video of a teenage Kobe Bryant doing work (yes, he’s been in the league that long), so when we do find some it’s always a treat to watch.
The folks over at Lakers Nation have found rare footage of Bryant scoring 29 points in the second half of a high school playoff game when Mambe was just a Junior. You can see glimpses of the skillset that would help Bryant develop into the Hall of Famer he is sure to be. Bonus points for the postgame interview, with Kobe in full-on Jordan mimicking form.
