As usual, NBA free agency is moving as quickly as social media will allow, and the name swirling in the mix is Shawn Marion. There were earlier reports that the Pacers were trying to apply for a disabled player exception for Paul George so that they could potentially offer Marion more money than the Cleveland Cavaliers would be able to afford.
However, it appears that money isn’t Marion’s first language in this stage of the game, because Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Marion is leaning strongly toward going to the Cavs than to the Pacers. In fact, Wojnarowski’s report also includes information that the Pacers have already ditched efforts to lure Marion to Indiana and have started looking at other options.
It seems the appeal of playing with LeBron and possibly winning another title is far exceeding the extra dollars that Marion could make by joining the Pacers.
