Tennessee Titans new head coach, Ken Whisenhunt, is trying to send a message to his team. No longer are the days of sloppy plays and misreads. Everyone will be held accountable, including WR Justin Hunter. Hunter showed up to training camp the “J.A.G.,” which stands for “Just Another Guy,” on the back of his jersey instead of his name. The reason for the name change has now been revealed per Jim Wyatt of The Tennesseean.
But after he failed to convert a route in Saturday’s preseason game against the Packers, coach Ken Whisenhunt called him out in a meeting. Receivers coach Shawn Jefferson then talked to equipment manager Matt Thompson about making the uniform change.
Hunter now finds himself wearing the tag J.A.G. on his practice jersey until he proves himself to the coaching staff that he deserves his real name back. It sounds like tough love from Whisenhunt and his staff, but it certainly sends the message loud and clear.
