How exactly do you avoid injuries in an 82 game NBA season? You might find that Andrew Bogut has an interesting take on exactly how he can do that in the future.
“My body feels great,” said Bogut, who returned to working out in mid-June after his fractured rib healed. “All of my injuries have been of the high-impact variety. The only thing I can do to change that is to be a puss and avoid contact at all costs. Then, it’s the other side of the ball when people say I’m a puss. I’ll take the good with the bad. I’ll still take charges and go for blocked shots. Every now and then, I’ll get a knock.”
Interesting thought, but mind you that the Warriors held a scrimmage game at their downtown Oakland practice facility where Bogut took a charge from Marreese Speights, breaking protocol for what is supposed to be a meaningless friendly pick-up game. Steve Kerr is coming into Golden State and bringing a new mindset to the Aussie big guy, hoping to get him more involved on offense which has been a critique on him on that side of the ball. Even with an increased offensive load it seems that Bogut is in no desire to change his physicality on the defensive end of the ball. Bogut is firmly on the side of just saying no to being ‘a puss’.
