Darren Sproles. Wow. That’s all I can say after watching the clinic he put on during Monday Night Football. A career day for the dynamic back who racked up 152 yards receiving, 26 rushing yards, and 25 return yards. Philadelphia was playing catch up for most of the game until they finally tied it in the 3rd quarter on a 19-yard rushing touchdown by Sproles, check it out if you haven’t yet. The Colts then took the lead again on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Luck to Ahmad Bradshaw early in the 4th quarter.
So with the Colts up by 7 and under five minutes to go the Eagles once again went to Darren Sproles who, on arguably the biggest play of the game, took a short pass and broke it for a 51-yard gain.
This led to a touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin that tied the score at 27. Andrew Luck got the chance to play hero once again with the ball in his hands and three and a half minutes to go in the game. The Colts went three and out and kicked the ball back to the Eagles giving them about two minutes to get into field goal range for the win. A 24-yard pass to Zach Ertz was followed by a 17-yard pass to none other than Darren Sproles. After a short run by McCoy, Cody Parkey kicked it from 36-yards to win the game as time ran out. Look for the fantasy football world to go crazy trying to snatch up Sproles if he’s a free agent in your league. What a Monday Night Football performance.
