Dan Haren had a particularly eventful night on Monday, as he needed to pitch at least 6 innings in order to reach 180 innings for the season and automatically trigger a $10 million contract guarantee for the 2015 season. The 180 innings also allowed Haren to gain a $500,000 bonus for this season. Haren’s agent should be commended in this situation for negotiating such a lucrative incentive based contract. Haren signed a one year deal last spring with the Dodger after a one year stint with the Washington Nationals. Haren has a record of 13-11 this year with the Dodgers, and for him to secure such a huge payday from a mediocre season is nothing short of amazing.
