The Miami Dolphins were home but the New England Patriots were favorites nonetheless, and rightfully so. While the Dolphins ended an up and down first half down 20-10 they came out in the second half a different team. The Dolphins went on to score the next 23 straight points to win 33-20 and hand the New England Patriots their first opening day loss in more than ten years. New Dolphins running back Knowshon Moreno started his Dolphins tenure with 134 rushing yards and a TD. Ryan Tannehill threw for 178 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Tom Brady threw for 249 yards with only one touchdown and no interceptions. Dolphins got to Tom Brady, as they sacked him four times and hurried him on many other passes. DE Cameron Wake had two sacks. Meanwhile, the Dolphins who led the league in getting sacked last year, allowed only one sack on Ryan Tannehill.
Dolphins move on to face another division rival next week, as they travel to Buffalo to face the Bills while the Patriots travel to Minnesota next week.
