Jayru Campbell had a road of opportunity waiting for him. He committed to attend Michigan State to play football at the quarterback position, and the future was bright. Circumstances changed when Campbell assaulted one of his high school security guards in January of this year.
Instead of starting a new chapter of his life in East Lansing, Campbell served a 57-day jail sentence for his attack on the security guard. However, just hours after Campbell was released from jail, we’ve learned that he clearly didn’t learn a lesson. Instead, Campbell was arrested again on Friday for allegedly choking his girlfriend at his high school football game.
According to Fox 2 in Detroit, Campbell is accused of choking a female during a football game at Cass Tech High School.
WXYZ says Campbell grabbed his girlfriend’s cell phone, went through her text messages and then assaulted her. He is currently in custody.
Campbell had been ordered to attend anger management classes as part of his sentence. Obviously, that didn’t help.
