Washington QB Kirk Cousins struggled mightily against the Giants in Thursday night’s game throwing four interceptions in a 45-14 loss to their division rival. According to Giants DB Zack Bowman it “felt like Christmas” to the Giants defense.
“It’s like blood in the water,” Bowman said. “We just keep going at him and going at him. They come in bunches.”
“You could see the life getting sucked out of that team. Mistakes after mistakes after mistakes,” Bowman said. “You just saw they put their head down. Of course they’re going to keep playing, but they weren’t playing with that same energy.”
Quintin Demps, who grabbed an interception and was in on the bone-crunching hit that sent Niles Paul out of the game, said that the whole Giants defense got excited by the turnovers.
“It feels good. Just to hear our d-line say, ‘Were going to get him, you guys do your thing,'” Demps said in a boisterous Giants locker room. “We were in the right spots at the right time.”
Antrell Rolle, the leader of the Giants secondary, was asked about Bowman’s Christmas line on the interview podium. Rolle smiled and thought for a second before giving the same answer.
“Christmas.”
