The Dallas Cowboys are doing their due diligence and research into the possibility of signing former St. Louis Rams DE Michael Sam to their 10 man practice squad per NFL Networks Ian Rapoport.
The Cowboys spent today calling players, gauging reaction to signing Sam, the plan is to bring him in to the facility with the intention of signing him. Sam will fly into Dallas tonight, and if he passes his physical Wednesday, he will be signed to the practice squad. This could be a potential good fit for Sam, who would be joining the 32nd ranked defense from last year. The Cowboys have a need at the DE position since their 2nd round pick, DeMarcus Lawrence, is on the IR/designated to return. Jerry Jones sure knows how to keep his Cowboys relevant and in the news. This could also be a potential financial windfall for Jones, The Cowboys are the only NFL team to distribute their own product and not split merchandising with the other 31 teams.
