Despite his recent arrest for allegedly beating up on his pregnant girlfriend, the 49ers have decided to let the law do their part on determining McDonald’s innocence.
49ers coach Jim Harbaugh confrmed that the defensive tackle will be a-go, via ESPN:
“As it stands now, yes,” Harbaugh said.
“Two principles are woven together here. I feel like the way the facts are and what’s known, that he has the liberty to play in the game.”
Despite the arrest last Sunday, McDonald has practiced all week and accoridng Harbaugh has looked “fine”. Currently no charges have been filed against him .
The 49ers are content to wait for due process to go to work. Meanwhile, Roger Goodell just days prior to McDonald’s arrest issued stiffer penalities for players found guilty of domestic violence--which includes a lifetime ban for 2nd time offenders.
