In light of the recent public attention brought to sexual assault involving college athletes, President Barack Obama is starting a campaign to try to change the way people view the epidemic. President Obama called campus sexual assault “an affront to our basic humanity” and vows to do something about it.
A new public service announcement features Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and other familiar faces telling viewers they have a responsibility to stop sexual assault.
The campaign encourages people on campus to make sure friends are safe and to intervene before an assault happens.
President Obama has enlisted the aid of several celebrities, including Kerry Washington and Jon Hamm.
