I really don’t think that Byron Maxwell should take it personally that teams would rather throw to his side instead of to the side of one of the NFL’s premier cornerbacks in Richard Sherman. But to be fair his comments suggest that he is fully aware of what is taking place and what he has to do to change that.
“Keep coming at me,” Maxwell told 710 ESPN Seattle.
“I take it as earning my keep. Like I said, he’s got 16 picks.
“He’s earned that respect. I feel like I’ve got to earn that respect in this league for them not to come at me. I’ve got to prove that.”
I think teams limiting themselves to one side of the field is a fruitless endeavor but what do I know?
