In Thursday night’s NFL opening game, the Green Bay Packers will be starting a rookie center, Corey Linsley. The Seahawks already have the leagues loudest stadium, Century Link Field, and the infamous “12th man” fan base has been know to impact opposing offenses. Linsley did not take a single preseason snap from QB Aaron Rodgers, and will has been inserted into the starting lineup after starting center JC Tretter suffered a fractured knee against the Raiders, Aug 22. ESPN reports
Seattle Seahawks LB Bruce Irvin can’t help but feel sorry for him. “I’m going to pray for him” Irvin told reporters Tuesday. “Its going to be a long night, man. We’ve got to just take advantage of it.” “All The weakness that [Linsley] shows us, we’ve got to expose it,” he told reporters.
Irvin has question marks regarding his own status after recovering from offseason hip surgery and not participating in training camp. Irvin is on the active roster, and says he will be playing Thursday night.
“Oh yeah, I ain’t suppose to say this, but yeah, I’ll be out there Thursday” Irvin said.
Bruce Irvin is talking a big game, and on Thursday the world will see if he’s able to back it up. It’s probably easier for him to play his game when he knows that he’s a small cog in that physical Seattle Seahawks defense.
