According to reports, the Phoenix Suns will be signing Zoran Dragic, younger brother of the team’s point guard Goran Dragic. While the move is interesting because the Suns have about 46 other point guards on the roster, the real story here is that Goran has a brother named Zoran and that my friends is pure gold.
According to Sports Illustrated, the Suns will help Zoran pay some of his buy-out from his Spanish club team to facilitate a move to Phoenix.
Slovenian guard Zoran Dragic’s agency has informed his Spanish club team that he is leaving to sign a two-year deal with the Phoenix Suns, reports Spanish newspaper La Opinion de Malaga.
Dragic, the younger brother of Suns guard Goran Dragic, has a $1 million buyout in his contract with Unicaja Malaga, but Phoenix will reportedly pay it in order to bring him on. Any signing had to have occurred before the Spanish season begins in October.
There is just too much awesome going on here.
While it remains to be seen if the Reign of Zoran is upon us, the one thing we know for sure is that we have already found the best name in the league.
Too bad we were just a few letters away from bringing Zordon into the league.
On a totally unrelated note, the NBA season cannot get here soon enough.
