During the NBA Finals, there was a lot of speculation about Tim Duncan possibly retiring. The rumors warmed up even more after San Antonio defeated Miami in five games, but Duncan quickly killed that noise after opting in to the final year of his contract.
The decision didn’t come easy, however.
“There was some hesitation there,” Duncan admitted.
“It came down to, I’m not going to be able to do this again,” Duncan said Friday, at his 18th annual Spurs media day. “So as long as I’m feeling I can (play), and I feel good about it, this is where I want to be.”
San Antonio is poised for another title run with their core players all returning. The speculation of when Timmy will retire will surely continue.
