The Ravens honored future Hall of Famer Ray Lewis with a statue outside M&T Bank Stadium on Thursday, but some NFL fans are still clinging to Lewis’ infamous murder trial stemming from the double murders of Jacinth Baker and Richard Lollar in Atlanta back in January 2000. In fact, there was a Twitter eruption following the announcement of the statue, and here is what some of your Twitterverse citizens had to say.
The statue of Ray Lewis needs to have this drawn next to it at all times. pic.twitter.com/Uni2NuUwZb

.@Ravens How come the Ray Lewis’ statue doesn’t look like this? Where’s the white suit he wore that night anyway? pic.twitter.com/QaDGkvj4VF

ray lewis statue looks sick but there’s now an immortalized statue of a murderer…..soooooo not sure what to think about that

I’m guessing the Ray Lewis statue doesn’t immortalize him brandishing a knife

Can’t wait until the Ray Lewis statue gets suspended this season.

Ray Lewis has been given a statue in his honour. Next up…. Aaron Hernandez!!! #murder

They should’ve put that statue of Ray Lewis outside the courtroom he beat that murder case in. Not the Ravens stadium

Needless to say, not everyone agrees with the statue, but everyone will never agree on anything anyway. For now, the statue remains and Twitter continues to explode.
