A Minnesota Vikings owner’s son who was charged with assaulting his wife late last year entered the same type of pretrial program as Baltimore Raven Ray Rice to have the charge dropped.
Michael Mandelbaum — son of Vikings part-owner and real-estate mogul David Mandelbaum — entered an intervention program after he was charged with assaulting his wife.
Michael, who handles legal affairs for his family, was charged with aggravated assault in the third degree last year after allegedly pushing his wife down the stairs, The Wall Street Journal reported this past week. But he entered an intervention program that, “once completed, would result in the charge being dropped.”
Michael, 47, is going through a nasty divorce with wife Debra Mandelbaum, 52, who got a temporary restraining order against him after the incident. On Dec. 19, Michael called 911 “to report that a woman had fallen down a flight of stairs and was unconscious” at their New Jersey home, the Star-Ledger reported at the time.
The Vikings decided to “do the right thing” with Adrian Peterson while his child abuse case is still going through the legal system.
