Brandon Marshall faces the Miami Dolphins Sunday the first time since being traded to the Chicago Bears for three draft picks in 2012. The five time Pro Bowl wide receiver talked about his time in Miami and quarterback Chad Henne. In a conference call Wednesday with south Florida reporters Marshall had these comments:
“We were a quarterback away from having a team,” Marshall said. ”Our defense were studs. Offensively … I really thought we had a young group of guys that could have done some special things if we came together. Unfortunately, we didn’t have that opportunity.”
The two years Marshall was with the Dolphins the team record was 7-9 and 6-10, Marshall didn’t hide his disdain for Henne when they were teammates. Marshall also shared comments on when general manager Jeff Ireland traded him to Chicago:
“I was surprised, but I was happy at the same time once Jeff Ireland told me where I was going,” Marshall said. ”I thought it was best for me and my family. … Chicago is a dream come true.”
It’s safe to say there is no love lost. Chad Henne is now quarterbacking for the jaguars and general manager Jeff Ireland is not with the Dolphins organization no more. Marshall is apparently happy in Chicago so I see no reason to complain about old times.
