I don’t think D Wade is “washed” like the kids say, I think his health is an issue. When healthy during the LeBron years, you would see glimpses of the old D Wade. It just wasn’t consistent and it didn’t have to be because he had to LeBron.
With LeBron gone and four years added to his odometer, you have to wonder how much of the old Wade is left. For his part he is feeling confident that he is still best shooting guard in the game. Here is what he said to Bleacher Report.
How long can he hold the youngest, hungriest of them back? Suddenly, after a long drought, there’s a new crop at the spot, from Bradley Beal to Klay Thompson to Lance Stephenson to DeMar DeRozan. All are at least six years older, with fewer scars, far less wear.
When Wade is physically right, are any better?
“No,” Wade said. “When I’m right, there are players at my position that are probably more athletic than me. There are players at my position that can probably shoot threes better than me. That can do individual things. But when I’m right, overall, just like I’ve been the last few years, I mean, I can be a dynamic player. It’s unfortunate that, consistently, that last couple years, I haven’t been able to be that. But I’m not going to stop working to get there. I’m going to put all my efforts towards doing it. Because the moments where I feel, ‘Oh, it feels so right,’ it feels so good.”
For the HEAT they are hoping Wade feels right a lot this season.
