The test run for Roc Nation Sports into the world of sports representation seems to have been a major success. The company seems ready to go full-bore as a sports agency.
According to Sports Business Daily, Jay Z and Roc Nation Sports is looking to hire veteran sports agents as well as buy their agencies.
Their president and chief of branding confirmed the expansion.
“We are actively interviewing agents,” Michael Yormark, Roc Nation president and chief of branding and strategy, confirmed in an interview last week. “We are looking at potential acquisitions to grow our agency and to continue to build out our infrastructure as aggressively as we can. That process has started in the last 30 days, and hopefully we will have some announcements in the near future.”
The Roc Nation stable is stacked led by Kevin Durant and Ndamukong Suh. The roster has taken a hit as of late with the struggles of Geno Smith and the season ending injury to Victor Cruz.
The roster also includes Celtics guard James Young; MLB players Robinson Cano, CC Sabathia and Rusney Castillo; Colts receiver Hakeem Nicks, and WNBA star Skylar Diggins.
Roc Nation has been rumored to be in the mix for UCLA star quarterback Brett Hundley as well.
