Things are getting very tense is Tallahassee as Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher is letting it be known that he’s had enough of the perceived media badgering over Jameis Winston. Fisher was asked if he felt his reputation was at stake for backing Winston, and what proceeded was a abrupt end to the press conference and a very awkward press area.
“We’re moving on with Louisville and talking about the other things,” Fisher said. “Everything should be great.”
Fisher ended the interview once he was asked whether it’s fair that Fisher’s reputation has taken a hit.
“Why is my reputation taking a hit? For backing a kid who has done nothing wrong?” Fisher said. “I don’t want to get into this. The questions weren’t supposed to be asked today. I’m done. I’m done.”
It wasn’t entirely the media’s fault, though. Fisher said he was told that there would be no questions about Winston’s off-field issues, but reporters weren’t told that there were any restrictions.
