Former New England Patriots tight end will go on trial for double murder in 2015. While things are looking bleak for the former NFL star, he did catch a slight break today.
A judge has thrown out as evidence bullets found in an apartment rented by ex-New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez and a magazine found in his Hummer, saying police didn’t demonstrate probable cause for the searches.
Judge Susan Garsh ruled Thursday in Fall River Superior Court. Prosecutors had previously indicated they wouldn’t oppose the defense’s effort to keep the items out but provided little explanation.
The removal of these bullets is interesting because they’re the same type caliber as the ones that were used in the murder.
Will this be enough to set Hernandez free, however?
Probably not, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction for Hernandez and his camp.
