There are few things in the NBA better than a Kobe Bryant interview. For years early in his career, the Los Angeles Lakers star was contrived and controlled in what he said to the media, always trying to get people to like him and say the right thing.
As his career has progressed, Kobe has reached a point where he is no longer concerned with what people think, say or write about him and pretty much says whatever is on his mind. The honesty has become a blessing for fans and media alike as we constantly get gems from the Mamba.
A great example of this came yesterday before the Lakers season openere when TNT’s Rachel Nichols asked Kobe about the idea that free agents don’t come to LA because of him.

Gotta love the confidence. As delusional as something like that may sound to us, you know that Kobe believes it 100% in his heart, and well that’s all that counts. So that’s the end of that conversation.
