Lane Kiffin bolted the University of Tennessee like a thief in the night to accept the USC job vacated when Pete Carroll headed to Seattle.
Kiffin spent just 14 months in Knoxville and left for greener pastures in 2010 after a 7-6 record as head coach.
As Alabama prepares to travel to Knoxville this weekend for an SEC showdown, Kiffin’s mom has expressed concern for her sons safety.
“I’m scared to death for his safety,” Robin Kiffin said of Saturday’s game. “Some people were visiting us last weekend from Tennessee and they said they better not let him on the sideline (where Kiffin coaches at Alabama), they should put him in the press box. I want him to be in the press box.”
It’s the SEC we’re talking about, so Kiffin can expect a rough greeting from hurt Tennessee fans. I don’t it’ll go beyond some random name calling, vulgar signs and beer throwing.
