Floyd Mayweather, like the rest of us, is fed up with talks about him and Manny Pacquiao fighting. He’s gone to the point of saying that his father, Floyd Sr., could be let go if he doesn’t stop adding fuel to the fire.
“Well, my father is totally wrong …Like I said before, we have people constantly being removed from the Mayweather Promotion team, Team Mayweather, and we also have people being removed from The Money Team. I want my dad to be with my team, but if he continues to go out there and speak on things that he has no knowledge about without communicating with me, then I must get a new trainer. I’m just saying when Pacquiao was sleeping, everybody was like, ‘Y’all crazy for trying to make that Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.’ You know what’s so crazy? I just look at the situation like this, ever since Ariza left Pacquiao, he hasn’t had a knockout. What a coincidence!”
Floyd has been doing a lot of talk about Pacquiao as of late and it seems like this build up is just setting the stage for a WWE-esque retirement fight between the two boxers. ( I’d pay good money to see Floyd & Manny climbing opposite sides of a ladder racing towards one of boxing 10,000 titles.)
Floyd is extremely touchy and dare I say paranoid lately. He’s exhibiting all of the signs of someone that is seeing his mortality and the downfall of an empire. He’s trying to cling on to any shred of success and is shamelessly throwing others under the bus when things go wrong. Sadly, this tactic will leave Floyd lonely and friendless when it is time to hang up the gloves.
