Early Tuesday morning Olympic star athlete Michael Phelps was arrested in Baltimore for DUI. This is the second time Phelps has been arrested for DUI, and sources say he had been gambling and drinking for eight straight hours at a local Baltimore casino right before the arrest.
According to police documents released on Wednesday, Phelps blood alcohol level was .14. The legal limit in the state of Maryland is .08, which means Phelps was nearly double the legal limit for alcohol consumption. Police say that they recorded Phelps doing 84-mph in a 45-mph speed zone. In addition to that, he was crossing double lanes and his eyes were blood shot. Officers also smelled alcohol in the car and on Phelps’ breath.
When police questioned Phelps, he claimed he had only consumed 3 or 4 drinks, and his last drink occurred two hours before leaving the casino. At 29 years old, Phelps has now been arrested for DUI twice was once photographed allegedly smoking weed. This isn’t a good look for the world’s most decorated Olympic athlete.
