Joe Mixon is not a popular man with Norman, Oklahoma police after accepting a plea deal with the district attorney after punching a woman in the face this summer.
The incident took place in a bar after the woman hit the talented running back. Mixon then punched Amelia Ray Molitor in the face before walking off.
Freedom High School football coach Kevin Hartwig spoke to the Oklahoman recently about Mixon, and had this to say about their former player.
“You guys haven’t seen the real Joe,” Hartwig said Thursday evening. “When you do, you’ll understand what I mean when I say that.
“A split-second does not represent the man I’ve known for four years.”
The Oklahoman ran that quote as promo for their Friday piece on Mixon. After seeing the Tweet, the official page of the Norman Police Department responded with their own tweet before deleting it.
