Well the Cowboys coaches aren’t holding their tongues when it comes to All- Pro corner Richard Sherman. The word out of Dallas is that the coaches don’t think as highly of Richard Sherman as he does of himself.
The Cowboys aren’t the least bit intimidated about facing Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman today.
That’s the word from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, who reported that the Cowboys’ coaching staff has been telling the players this week that Sherman is overrated. The Cowboys’ view is that the rest of Seattle’s secondary, particularly safety Earl Thomas, deserves more of the credit, and that Sherman gets propped up by playing with Thomas.
The Cowboys aren’t saying the Seahawks don’t have a great defense — the Cowboys consider the Seahawks’ defense the best in the league — but they do believe they can attack Sherman.
I can’t say I don’t agree with some of what they’re saying about Sherman. I would value him a lot more if he constantly shadowed the opposing team’s top receiver every week instead of staying on the left side of the defense. I will say this though, if he goes out there tonight and makes some plays and gets the win, be prepared to never hear the end of it.
