The L.A. Times confirmed the report as well.
Multiple sources told The Times that members of the bid team in L.A. were informed Thursday afternoon that the league’s marquee event was headed for the heartland.
That likely will come as a surprise to some people in the league because the Competition Committee voted in August to recommend the three-day event be held in at Nokia Theatre in L.A. But NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, responsible for the final decision, went in a different direction.
The sources who spoke to The Times did so anonymously because they are not authorized to publicly reveal which city was selected.
Adam Schefter is reporting that the event will remain a three-day celebration.
Though the league is undecided between LA and Chicago, next year’s NFL Draft is now set for April 30-May 2, per league sources.

The draft sustained its usual amount of success despite the move to May.
