So news going around the biz via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is that Hulk Hogan has been gearing up for one last WWE match at Wrestlemania 31. Hogan’s not the only big name star rumored to be wrestling their last match at the “Granddaddy of Them All” or whatever the new Wrestlemania tagline is they’re using today. Sting is also looking to have his final match, as well as first ever in a WWE ring, and Wrestlemania is the only place for a spectacle like that. Sting and Hogan would not be wrestling each other, please God no, but separate opponents. I know people will be wary of a 61-year-old Hogan with back problems wrestling but it’s about the moment more so than the actual match. Sting will be 56 and can still go put a decent show with a good worker so I’m not worried about him showing out in his final match.
This would be a huge draw for the WWE to have these two icons on the same card in their last matches. Maybe throw in the Undertaker as Sting’s opponent and you have three legends in their final matches. Wrestlemania is always an awesome show to try and piece together. Imagine Rock and Triple H factoring into the card in some way too. Fantasy booking is fun and this could be some kind of be a way to spotlight the past and the future in their biggest show.
