Rex Ryan can thank GM John Idzik for his stomach ache.
As the Jets and Patriots prepare for their first meeting of the seasons, Ryan told the media that it makes him nauseous just to see Darrelle Revis line up on Bill Belichick’s sideline.
“(I’m a) little sick to my stomach,” Ryan said of seeing Revis in a New England uniform. “I thought it was really weird last year when you saw him opening day (against the Bucs). I don’t know how I will react when I see him over there. That one felt kind of funny.”
When Revis became a free agent after his release from Tampa Bay, the Jets didn’t go after him despite having the cap room.
Ryan wanted to pursue Revis, Idzik did not. The Jets used that money on Dimitri Patterson who they later cut after the cornerback went AWOL during the preseason.
Revis’ initial replacement, Dee Milliner is out for the year after tearing his Achilles.
